This last month saw an unexpected change in the plan for Gabby’s placement. Due to some health issues, the client that Gabby was to be matched with did not believe he was capable of properly caring for Gabby, and of course that is of the utmost importance to us.

Although we didn’t have another service dog placement for Gabby, we decided to pivot and place her as a Facility Dog. As that match was local, we were able to begin their team training right away. Gabby is now working with the Social and Emotional Learning Teacher at a local school. This teacher works with all the students in the school, from PreK to 2nd grade. Different classes come to her at different times of the week and she works with students that need her more individually.

The teacher’s classroom mascot is the narwhal. She has narwhals everywhere and wasted no time getting Gabby her own narwhal toy. The entire school is so excited to have her, and Gabby clearly loves it! This will be Gabby's last Pupdate.
